Rizzoli have just released a new book documenting all the visual output of the often controversial musician M.I.A (aka Mathangi Arulpragasam). After graduating from Central Saint Martins London, M.I.A. went on to release three hugely successful albums as well as doing live performances at places like PS1 MoMA. Alongside this, a huge array of cover artwork, visuals, animated installations and graphic prints were produced by the artist using “anything she could find while she was touring.” To give all this artwork some context, there’s also foreword by long time friend Steve Loveridge and an exclusive interview in which M.I.A. discusses candidly the personal events and themes which informed her art and music at the time of each campaign.
